Dymaxion Family Day
Sun, Mar 15, 2009, 12 am–11:59 pm
Free for families with children ages 12 and under.
For one time only Target Family Day will be on a Sunday. Join us for a day of experimentation as we investigate the work and world of Buckminster Fuller. Explore the intersection of geometry and art as you create new play spaces, use your favorite shapes to design domes, and mix and match words to create mottos for the future.
Dymaxion Day Activities
1. The Shape of Things
Use your body to express your ideas in this movement workshop that repeat every 20 minutes.
2. Chronofile Creation
Buckminster Fuller kept a detailed journal that he called the Chronofiles. Follow in the footsteps of Bucky and create your own Chronofile that documents your day at the museum.
3. Pop a Wish for the World
Spell out and or create images to represent your wish for the world.
4. Dymaxion Play
Build a dome, stack triangles, and wiggle your way through spaces that you create.
5. Tot Spot
Refreshments await you on the ground floor, where you can recharge in between art-making activities.
We want you to have a wonderful experience. Groups of 20 or more must contact the education department at 312.397.3841 two weeks before the event to determine if space is available. Additional fees may apply.
