Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago

The Museum of Contemporary Art seeks two part-time Sales Associates to sell merchandise including jewelry, gifts and art books and provide customer service to guests in the MCA Store. Duties include opening and closing the store, operating a cash register and processing returns, assisting with special orders and other customer requests. Additional responsibilities include restocking and maintaining the selling floor. Sales Associates are required to maintain a working knowledge of museum exhibitions as well as public and performance programs.

Some college preferred. Retail sales experience required. Must be highly motivated and demonstrate initiative. Applicant must be creative, able to work in a fast-paced environment, have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy selling. Knowledge of art and design is a must. Applicant must exhibit scheduling flexibility and be available to work a minimum of 16 hours per week, including weekends and some after-hours events as needed.
