Individual Giving Assistant
The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago seeks a full-time Individual Giving Assistant to be responsible for the administrative duties pertaining to the museum’s donors at the Circle Donor, Director’s Vision Council, and Trustee levels, as well as providing support for the Individual Giving team as needed. Major responsibilities include drafting correspondence, processing donor renewals and acknowledgements, and administrative and logistical support of events, as well as working with the museum’s Raiser’s Edge database. The ideal candidate will possess superior writing skills, a willing team spirit and a professional and poised demeanor suitable for interacting with the museum’s top donors.
Baccalaureate degree required. Candidates should have one to three years of experience in a development office, preferably in a college or museum setting, with a general understanding of individual giving practices. The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented and accurate, possess strong verbal communication skills and be skilled in computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge is preferred. This position will interface with members and donors and therefore the individual must have a commitment to customer service and be able to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to operate computers, printers, and telephones and general mobility throughout the building required. The full-time schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm and weekends and evenings as required.
